Men A: (Won 28 v 16)
Finish on 263 points, level with Surrey, however, we only end up on 3rd place. However, The team played exceptionally well, great result. All other county matches in the main hall stopped and watching the last game played, the atmosphere was fantastic. Big thanks to Vikas for his captaincy contribution this season. Well done!
Outstanding Performance: Giuseppe D'Imperio and Scott Yardley both won 4 out of 4
Men B: (Lost 16 v 28)
Berkshire played extremely well, they should have won, threw away too many games. Captain next season is Sean Gourley, Vice Captain is Sean Watson.
Outstanding Performance: Martin Smith won 4 out of 4
Men C: (Lost 15 v 29)
Turn up with bear 8 players, the whole match was a struggle even with the help of the two ladies. Steve Pantelli very kindly help us on the day and won 3 out of 4 games. Di still captain next season, JH & DH continue to be vice captain.
Outstanding Performance: Steve Panteli & Dean Preston both won 3 out of 4 games. Paul Taylor won 2 out of 4 games.
Ladies: (Lost 18 v 26)
Berkshire Ladies have a good year, although didn't get much of a results from the Yarmouth Interleague event, overall county results are positive ones. We attained the best results since 7 years of history playing against Surrey, result this season 26-18, the highest so far. The ladies also managed to beat Hampshire once this season, which has never been done before. Against London, we were not so lucky this season, only manage to draw once, while we had one won last season and one in 2007. Matches against Kent exact the same scores as last season and against Sussex is very similar too.
Sunday 19th December. To enter, please contact Scott Yardley. See the flyer for more details: http://www.berkshirecountypool.co.uk/downloads/2010-RBCPA-closed-comp.pdf
Men A: (Lost 27 v 17)
John Shiel miss the 8-ball was unbelievable. The commentary from London was very supportive and said Berkshire has the strongest A team this year.
Outstanding Performance: Vikas Sabharwal, Videsh Sabharwal & Scott Yardley all won 3 out of 4
Men B: (Lost 26 v 18)
Berkshire score flattered the London team. The atmosphere was not great in the London venue, people don’t seem to enjoy the day at all. Players were playing very scrappy games and silly mistakes were made we should of won 5/6 more frames and result would have been a lot different.
Outstanding Performance: Mick Worsford & Alan King all won 3 out of 4
Men C: (Lost 29 v 15)
There were couple of incidents during the match. Opposing team were side-chatting during matches, and players were very aggressive against each other. The London captain tried to resolve it. Due to these incidents, our players were greatly affected, some even lost their games because the row was so loud.
Outstanding Performance: Chris Fawcett won 3 out of 4 games.
Ladies: (Draw 22 v 22)
Quite a few players won 3 out of 4 games. The match was tight all through the day, Dom manage to win the last game to draw the match. Well done to Leanda H-Harding is now the Vice Captain till the end of this season.
Outstanding Performance: All players had played very well. Laura Pryce, Claire Dormer, Tracy Harman, Ingrid Kociscakova & Dom Chiu all won 3 out of 4
A Team (won 14v30)
An outstanding performance from Berkshires A team saw them run off a record 18 successive frames to turn an 8-5 deficit into a 23-8 lead against Sussex last Sunday. Four out of four from Rob Sparkes and Brad Robinson gave the A's a 30-14 win and moved them into second place in the South East table. With two matches left Berkshire play current national champions London who are in third, followed by the 2009 champions Surrey who are top, as they attempt to win the title.
B Team (won 17 v 27)
Sean Watson was the star for the B team as his four wins plus a steady contribution from Nick D'Imperio gave them a comfortable 27-17 over Sussex B.
C Team (won 14v30)
The C team matched their A team counterparts with a 30-14 victory. Carl James , Chris Ayres and Jon Ashby taking four frames each.
Ladies (lost 23v21)
Unfortunately Berkshire couldnt complete the grand slam as the Ladies were edged out 23-21. Dominique Chiu was undefeated as the ladies battled back from 21-15 down to 21-19 only to lose the last two frames.
