Looking at the tables , it would appear that there were 9 teams and two of them got byes to the semis ? Now considering 4 teams qualified then these sides were just given byes straight to the Yarmouth finals ??? Or am I being thick ?

No, you're not being thick. I think the rest of us are for bothering to turn up. Complete waste of time in my opinion if teams can get seeded through to the finals in Yarmouth. With 9 teams there should have been just one prelim and then a straight knock out. It could still be seeded, if need be, and the top teams would still only have to win one game to qualify, but at least there would be some minor sense of achievement.
